About Alex Barrios
Lifelong Democrat, Dad and Partner with a proven track record of helping Democrats win
Alex Barrios was elected to the Sacramento County Democratic Party Central Committee in June 2016. A lifelong Democrat, he has successfully led dozens of winning campaigns for Democratic candidates and causes. Over the past 15 years, Alex has worked for many well-known local Democrats we trust including former Sacramento Assemblymember Dave Jones, former Sacramento State Senator Deborah V. Ortiz, former State Controller John Chiang, and Congresswoman Norma Torres.
Alex currently serves as executive vice president of a national equity-focused nonprofit organization that uses actionable data to help increase access to living wage jobs across the nation. From 2008 to 2016, he served as a consultant and campaign manager to dozens of Democratic candidates and causes. Alex gained a reputation for helping Democrats win competitive races.
Alex graduated from Sacramento State University with a masters degree in communication studies and has lived in Sacramento for over 20 years. He is married with two young daughters and grew up the son of blue-collar working class parents represented by labor unions. Alex strongly believes the Democratic Party best represents and advocates for the interests of working class people.
